Serengeti Explorer is proud to showcase a variety of beautiful, sustainable items created by the talented artisans at Shanga, the social enterprise partner based at Arusha Coffee Lodge. Shanga employs and trains people with disabilities to create beautiful products using recycled materials, embodying Elewana’s commitment to community empowerment and environmental sustainability.

Upon arrival at the property, guests are served with a signature welcome drink in small green glasses made by the team at Shanga. At the Agama Bar and wine cellar, glass vases made from repurposed green wine bottles adorn the shelves. Glass beaded strings made from recycled green wine bottles are also displayed at Agama Bar and near the coffee tables. Similar decorative elements will also be added to the suites' dressing areas and the spa’s shelves.

The dining experience at Serengeti Explorer is enhanced by Shanga's artistry with glass candle holders crafted from recycled green wine bottles creating a warm ambiance at Acacia Restaurant. For bush activities and special outdoor events, clear recycled glasses are used, while vibrant orange glasses add a pop of colour to the Boma dining experience. 

Each guest accommodation features off-white woven bed throws made from locally sourced cotton while the reception area and guest rooms feature elegant grey pendant lights crafted from recycled window glass. The lodge’s retail shop features custom metal and glass hanging rails and hooks that showcase items.
