Welcome to Serengeti Explorer, a lodge experience unlike any other.
Recognised historically as one of the best bush locations in the Serengeti, Explorer has reimagined a pre-existing site and created an upscale contemporary safari lodge in which the expression of space and freedom meets that of the great outdoors.
At Serengeti Explorer relaxation, meditation and adventure are all present in equal measure. Under the careful stewardship of Elewana’s service standards, Explorer has crafted a series of inspired opportunities that will allow the modern safari traveller to experience the wilderness in a more contextual way.

This UNESCO World Heritage site is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts, offering a front-row seat to the iconic Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebras traverse the land in an epic journey.

THE ANNUAL MIGRATION
Serengeti Explorer is ideally placed in the western corridor of the National Park to offer ‘front row seats’ to the Annual Migration - one of nature’s most awe- inspiring spectacles. Each year, over 1.5 million wildebeest, accompanied by hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles, embark on a treacherous journey across the Serengeti.

Serengeti Explorer has created a wealth of accommodation options - all designed with comfort and style as a priority.
68 Savannah Rooms and 6 Savannah Suites, both in options of king-size and twin-bed configurations - including 3 interconnecting rooms and 3 with wheelchair access - flank an impressive elevated two-tiered Lodge that overlooks the Serengeti.

Our Commitment
PEOPLE - PLANET - PARTNERSHIPS
Sustainable construction and community empowerment were the guiding principles behind the design of this luxury lodge.
Re-purposed stones & materials from the demolition of the existing structure were used to create the dry-stack external walls and room floors, whilst reintroducing local build methods and honing community skills. Decorative items and lighting fixtures have been manufactured using recycled materials by our social enterprise, Shanga.
The lodge will also support a number of conservation and community initiatives in the region through our philanthropic arm, Land & Life.
